The raven has a year-round presence in Alaska. Their complex social behaviors amongst each other are only superseded by their raw intelligence and problem solving. I believe all living things have contained within them an essence or “spirit” that is greater than the sum of their physical parts. Ravens have a playful and thoughtful personality yet somehow evoke a shadowy essence that can amplify dark or rainy atmospheres. Unpredictable summer weather and isolated rainstorms that appear from nowhere seem to perfectly reflect the spirit of these complex and majestic birds that own the skies of this vast Alaskan wilderness.
