The red-tailed hawk was my first animal with water-color pencil.
Being my first piece after a long break from art, I wanted to create something slightly abstract which was my focus for the background in this piece.
The red-tailed hawk is a bird of prey I frequently saw at the time and was an inspiration for me to start back into my passion of portraying wildlife on paper through my art.
This piece was fun for me to create and opened the door to capture more of the Alaskan wilderness and its’ incredible beauty.
